Chain reaction book simone elkeles6/29/2023 ![]() ![]() ![]() In fairness, love interest Nikki is a much better character, and I enjoyed the chapters that she narrated significantly more.ĭespite the repetitiveness of the plot, there are still some reasons to read this one. In particular, Luis himself can be a jerk, who seems to think he’s far better than his brother Carlos just because he’s more intelligent. I haven’t actually read Perfect Chemistry, but I got a rough idea of what happened in it when I read Rules of Attraction, and while Rules of Attraction was a really enjoyable read, this just seems to be more of the same but with less likeable characters. ![]() This was an entertaining read in many ways, but as fans of Elkeles will have noticed from the brief plot summary above, it has marked similarities to the earlier two books about the Fuentes brothers. Who will win out – the gang, or the girl? Unfortunately, a gang called the Latino Blood are also interested in him for rather different reasons, and Nikki doesn’t approve of them. Luis Fuentes is a risk-taker who meets a feisty girl whom he falls in love with. Warning, spoilers for Perect Chemistry and Rules of Attraction below. ![]()

All my boxes were checked off and more, and I’m beyond happy to be delivering a beautifully glowing review of Lore. ![]() Everything I’ve been complaining about in 2020 books, everything I’d wished to see done differently, she did right. And thank every single god above that she delivered. I’m no stranger to Alexandra Bracken as an author as I’ve been reading her stories for a good handful of years now, so I expected a lot from this new standalone. And Lore blew that out of the water and gave me everything I’d been missing. That’s all I needed one, single new release that would simply be good. ![]() ![]() We all know that 2020 was a pretty shitty year for books and all I could hope for in 2021 is just one good book. ![]() Biko i write what i like6/29/2023 ![]() ![]() ![]() It is a gift to a new generation which enjoys freedom, from one that was there when this freedom was being fought for.
